Early intervention for children with learning disabilities
The Challenging Behaviour Foundation has published a briefing paper and a data supplement which summarise the available data and evidence on early intervention for the 40,000 children in England with learning disabilities, whose behaviour is described as challenging. A group of academic experts worked together to develop this briefing paper and to reach a consensus on the implications.
College of Occupational Therapy COT has produced a series of films featuring service users telling their stories about how they have been helped by their occupational therapist. There are three films: Dina, a little girl who had a stroke; Leo, who has autism; and Grace, who has coordination difficulties. The films show the OTs working with each of the children helping them to overvome their difficulties to enable them to participate in school and play activities.
