Law Commission Disabled Children's Social Care Consultation
The Law Commission is reviewing the legal framework governing social care for disabled children in England to ensure that the law is fair, modern and accessible, allowing children with disabilities to access the support they need. It has published a consultation paper asking people to tell it about their experiences of the current system and setting out its provisional proposals on how it could be improved.
Views are sought from anyone with an interest in, or experience of, disabled children’s social care, and in particular, from children and young people, parents and carers, social workers and other local authority professionals.
BACD encourages all members to respond to this consultation, even if you are only able to respond to one question. The consultation is open until 31 January 2025.
